Chocolate Cake
- 65g flour + 5g cornflour
- 20g cocoa powder
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 large egg (at room temp)
- 55g vegetable oil
- 100g sugar
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp espresso powder
- 45g greek yoghurt + 15g milk
- 120g semisweet chocolate
- 40g butter
- This recipe will make a 5 or 6 inch cake
- Whisk the dry ingredients together
- In a seperate bowl mix the eggs and sugar
- Add in the espresso powder, vanilla extract and the yogurt/milk mix, then mix until combined
- Slowly add the vegetable oil and mix until combined
- Sift in the flour and mix until just combined
- bake at 180c fan for 30 mins for a 6 inch cake and 36 mins for a 5 inch cake
- Add the chopped chocolate and butter in a microwaveable bowl
- Microwave for 30 seconds then mix and continue microwaving in 15 second intervals until
all the chocolate is melted
- Once everything has cooled slightly, pour the ganache on the cake and let it settle
