Apple Crumble
- 5 cooking apples
- 60g brown sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp ginger powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 70ml water
- Handful of dates (optional)
- 220g flour
- 160g butter
- 50g oats
- 100g brown sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ginger powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- Peel and chop the apples and place them in water to prevent browning.
- Simmer the apples, sugar, spices and water for 10 minutes.
- Prepare the crumble by mixing the butter, flour, oats, sugar and spices
- Add the apples then the crumble onto a 11" by 6" baking dish
- Bake at 180c for 25 minutes or until the crumble is golden brown
